Tree Pruning, Trimming, Cutting Service »
Tree Pruning serves a number of purposes from safety for cars or pedestrians
passing through to health and development of a tree to Hurricane Preparedness
and, all three in most cases.
On Hardwood Trees such as Oaks, Ficuses and Gumbo Limbos, the primary
objective of pruning is to prune for strength and form by removing dead and
diseased branches, establish solid leader branches, ensure proper sunlight is
reaching necessary areas of the tree, cut rubbing branches and to remove
irregular epicormic sprouts which are signs of stress to the tree (Mostly caused
by improper pruning).. just to name a few reasons.
We trim Palm Trees also for Hurricane Preparedness, Tree Health, Pest and
Rodent Control, to remove potential hazards from falling fruit and coconuts, to
remove dead or chlorotic lower leaves and Aesthetics.
Improper tree pruning is one of the major problems facing trees today and the
problem doesn't start or begin with just the uninsured, unlicensed guys driving
up and down the road offering hack tree services.
We have brought on tree trimmers from major tree companies and have found
that they have been improperly trained in tree pruning. Apparently, a lot of
companies out there are training their trimmers to cut palm trees with the
"Hurricane Cut" which is the process of cutting all brown branches and also a
lot of green branches making the palm tree look like a carrot.
This is the worst thing you can do to a Palm Tree. Palm trees
recycle nutrients from browning fronds to the heart of the Palm or, what is
called a translocation of nutrients.
Too much frond removal deprives the tree of needed nutrients and
weakens it's defense against invasive molds and fungi.
In addition, hurricane cuts will produce a condition known as
"pencil top" which is a narrowing of the palm trunk just below the fronds. High
winds can snap the top off making it airborne and forever destroying the tree.
Most people assume that cutting off a lot of branches makes the tree less likely
to snap during high winds but the total opposite is true.
We prune our palm trees to the 3-9 position and remove no totally green
branches. Owner is onsite at every job to ensure that your trees are pruned
properly. We never have a salesman sell you a job then a non caring crew do the
the work. Owner is with your tree job from start to finish.

Before and after photo of both Palm Tree Trimming and Tree Removal. Notice
the Palm Tree in front with no top. This is a result of the Hurricane Cut
performed in the past by incompetent tree trimmers. Unfortunately, we had to
remove it and it could have been avoided if pruned properly.
